Course Overview

Momii QA is building a knowledge-based economy, and technology sits at the heart of that plan. Under Oman Vision 2040 and the National Programme for Digital Economy, the Sultanate aims to raise the digital economy’s share of GDP from 2% in 2021 to 10% by 2040. Every government service moved online, and every business digitised adds devices, accounts, and users who need dependable support. The Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) IT Support (100-140) course prepares Omani professionals to provide it.

The programme covers the full 100-140 exam blueprint with an emphasis on how organisations in Oman actually operate. Many run distributed teams across ports, logistics hubs, energy sites and regional offices, so the course gives special weight to remote support tools, mobile device management, cloud storage and identity services such as Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID. Participants also master hardware troubleshooting, network diagnostics, Windows and macOS support, security awareness, and clear ticket documentation.

The credential is a practical step for national talent. It has no prerequisites, Cisco offers the exam in Arabic and English, and it can be taken online or at a Pearson VUE test centre. For Omani graduates and diploma holders, it opens doors to first-line IT roles, and for employers, it provides an objective, Cisco-verified benchmark when building and Omanising support teams.

FAQs

What is the Cisco CCST IT Support (100-140) certification?

It is Cisco’s entry-level certification for IT support professionals. Passing the 100-140 exam proves you can handle core help desk work: troubleshooting hardware, connectivity, operating systems, and applications; recognising security threats; and supporting end users professionally.

Do I need prior IT experience or another certification?

No. Cisco sets no prerequisites for any CCST certification, and you don’t need hands-on equipment experience to sit the exam. Basic computer literacy is enough to start this course; we build everything else from the ground up.

What is the 100-140 exam format?

The exam lasts 50 minutes, and the number of questions varies. You can take it at a Pearson VUE test centre or online with a remote proctor, and you’ll receive a pass/fail result as soon as you finish.

What jobs can I get with CCST IT Support?

Cisco positions the certification for roles such as IT end-user support, IT help desk support, computer support specialist, and IT help desk analyst. It also gives you a foundation for CCST Networking, CCST Cybersecurity, CCNA, and other Cisco certifications.

How does CCST IT Support compare with CompTIA A+?

CompTIA A+ is a broader certification that requires two exams. CCST IT Support is a single 50-minute exam focused on day-to-day help desk tasks, and it links directly into Cisco’s networking and cybersecurity pathway. Many technicians hold both.

How long is the certification valid?

CCST certifications earned on or after 15 July 2025 are valid for five years. You renew by passing any CCST, associate, professional, or expert-level Cisco exam before it expires.
