Implementing and Operating Cisco Data Center Core Technologies (350-601 DCCOR)

In many organizations, the network team, the server team, and the storage team each manage their own part of the data center, using their own tools and their own vocabulary. That separation works until something breaks at the boundary between them. Then nobody has the full picture. The Implementing and Operating Cisco Data Center Core Technologies (350-601 DCCOR) course takes a different approach: it teaches all three domains together, along with the automation and security practices that connect them.

On the network side, you will learn how Cisco Nexus switches deliver routing and switching services through OSPF, BGP, multicast, vPC, and first-hop redundancy protocols. You will also study VXLAN with BGP EVPN, which allows Layer 2 and Layer 3 services to stretch across a scalable fabric, and see how Cisco ACI introduces a policy-driven alternative.

The compute and storage sections show the other side of the same connections. Cisco UCS abstracts server identity into service profiles, so hardware can be replaced or repurposed without reconfiguring the network, and Cisco Intersight brings these systems under centralized management. Storage networking covers Fibre Channel, VSANs, zoning, NPV/NPIV and FCoE, explaining how servers reach their storage and how that traffic is kept separate and protected.

The final domains bring the picture together. Automation with Python, REST APIs, Ansible and Terraform lets teams manage network and compute from a single, consistent workflow, while security controls such as AAA, RBAC, ACLs and control plane policing protect the whole environment. The course prepares you for the 350-601 DCCOR exam, the core exam of CCNP Data Center and CCIE Data Center.

Course Objectives

On completing this course, learners will be able to:

  • Implement Cisco Nexus Layer 2 and Layer 3 features, including OSPF, BGP, multicast, vPC, and first-hop redundancy.
  • Configure VXLAN BGP EVPN overlays and compare them with the policy-based approach of Cisco ACI.
  • Use Cisco UCS service profiles, pools, and policies to abstract server identity and simplify server deployment.
  • Manage UCS and other compute resources through Cisco Intersight.
  • Implement Fibre Channel and FCoE connectivity, including VSANs, zoning, and NPV/NPIV.
  • Automate network and compute tasks with Python, REST APIs, Ansible, and Terraform.
  • Secure the data center with AAA, RBAC, ACLs, control plane policing, and first-hop security, and troubleshoot issues that cross domain boundaries.
