Course Overview

As organisations add branches, move workloads to the cloud, and connect more devices, the network has to grow without becoming fragile. Engineers are expected to keep it fast, segmented and secure, and to make changes without long maintenance windows. The Implementing Cisco Enterprise Network Core Technologies (350-401 ENCOR) course is designed for exactly that responsibility.

The programme gives network professionals a working command of the technologies that sit at the heart of Cisco enterprise network infrastructure. Rather than treating topics in isolation, it shows how they fit together in a live environment.

Foundations that carry the load. You will configure and troubleshoot VLAN trunking, EtherChannel bundles, and Spanning Tree variants, then build multi-area OSPF designs for IPv4 and IPv6. eBGP, policy-based routing and the differences between link-state and advanced distance-vector routing round out the Layer 3 work.

Resilience and segmentation. HSRP and VRRP keep gateways available, while VRF, GRE and IPsec tunnels let you separate traffic and connect sites securely. You will also see how Cisco SD-Access and Catalyst SD-WAN use overlays such as VXLAN and LISP to simplify campus and WAN operations.

Visibility and protection. Flexible NetFlow, IP SLA, and SPAN help you understand what the network is doing. AAA, ACLs and Control Plane Policing protect devices and traffic, framed within a broader network security design.

Automation as standard practice. The course closes with Python, JSON, YANG, NETCONF and RESTCONF, plus the APIs exposed by Cisco Catalyst Center and SD-WAN Manager, so routine work can be scripted rather than typed by hand.

This Cisco ENCOR training maps to the current 350-401 ENCOR blueprint and builds skills that apply directly to production networks.

Course Objectives

Participants will learn to:

  • Describe enterprise architectures, from traditional tiered campuses to fabric and cloud designs, and the high-availability features that support them.
  • Deploy and verify Layer 2 connectivity using VLANs, 802.1Q trunks, static and dynamic EtherChannel, RSTP and MST.
  • Configure OSPFv2 and OSPFv3 across multiple areas with summarisation and filtering, and set up eBGP peering with an understanding of best-path selection.
  • Provide gateway redundancy and core IP services through HSRP, VRRP, NAT/PAT and NTP.
  • Segment and extend the network using VRF, GRE and IPsec, and explain the role of VXLAN and LISP in Cisco SD-Access.
  • Harden network devices with AAA, ACLs, and CoPP, and diagnose issues using debugs, NetFlow, IP SLA, SNMP, and syslog.
  • Use Python, REST APIs, NETCONF, and RESTCONF to automate configuration and data collection.

Target Audience

  • Network engineers who design, configure and troubleshoot routed and switched networks.
  • Network administrators responsible for daily operations and change management.
  • Data center engineers who need a firm grasp of virtualization, overlays and redundancy.
  • IT operations professionals moving towards monitoring, assurance and automated workflows.
  • Engineers working with SDN, including Cisco SD-Access and Catalyst SD-WAN deployments.
  • Candidates preparing for 350-401, whether aiming for the Enterprise Core specialist credential, CCNP Enterprise or CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure.

Saudi Arabia’s rapid digital transformation, driven by smart city projects, cloud adoption, and expanding enterprise branch networks, has created strong demand for skilled Cisco engineers. Our Cisco ENCOR training in Saudi Arabia helps network professionals in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and across the Kingdom build the core skills behind modern enterprise networks. The 350-401 ENCOR course covers OSPF and eBGP routing, Layer 2 switching, VRF and IPsec virtualization, Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN, infrastructure security and network automation with Python and RESTCONF. Built around the latest 350-401 ENCOR v1.2 exam, this CCNP Enterprise training in Saudi Arabia prepares engineers in banking, telecom, government, and energy organisations for the exam that earns the Cisco Certified Specialist – Enterprise Core and forms the foundation of CCNP Enterprise and CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure.

FAQs

What does the 350-401 ENCOR course cover?

It covers the core technologies of Cisco enterprise networking across six areas: architecture, virtualization, infrastructure (Layer 2, Layer 3 and IP services), network assurance, security, and automation. It is the official preparation course for the 350-401 ENCOR exam.

Is this course suitable for experienced engineers?

Yes. Many participants already manage Cisco networks and use the course to formalise their knowledge, fill gaps in areas such as BGP or automation, and prepare for professional-level certification.

What should I know before attending?

A solid grasp of CCNA-level networking is recommended, including IP addressing, routing fundamentals, VLANs, and the Cisco IOS CLI. There are no formal prerequisites set by Cisco.

How much network automation is included?

Automation and AI account for 15% of the 350-401 exam. The course covers reading Python scripts, building JSON and YANG data models, NETCONF, RESTCONF, REST API response codes, EEM applets, and the difference between agent-based and agentless orchestration tools.

What certification can I earn after this course?

The course itself does not award a certification. It prepares you for the 350-401 ENCOR exam. Passing that exam earns the Cisco Certified Specialist – Enterprise Core credential and completes the core requirement for CCNP Enterprise. To earn CCNP Enterprise, you also need to pass one concentration exam.

Is ENCOR required for CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure?

Yes. ENCOR is the qualifying exam for the CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure lab exam. Candidates must pass ENCOR first and then pass the separate hands-on lab to achieve CCIE.

Which security topics are included?

You will configure device access control with local authentication and AAA, apply ACLs and CoPP, and study the components of a secure network design, including threat defense, endpoint security, next-generation firewalls, TrustSec, and MACsec.

How does this training support career development?

It builds practical skills that employers value in network engineering roles and provides structured preparation for a recognised Cisco professional exam. Results depend on your own effort, experience and exam performance.
