Implementing and Operating Cisco Collaboration Core Technologies (CLCOR)

Communication platforms are among the most business-critical systems an organisation runs, and many are in the middle of change. Legacy telephony is giving way to IP and cloud calling, desktop clients are being replaced, and leaders expect secure, cost-effective services that scale with the business. The Implementing and Operating Cisco Collaboration Core Technologies (CLCOR) course prepares IT teams to manage that change with confidence.

The course gives teams a shared, standardised foundation across the full Cisco collaboration estate. On-premises, participants learn to run Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) clusters, automate user onboarding through LDAP, provision devices at scale, manage voicemail with Cisco Unity Connection, and connect to service providers through Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE). In the cloud, they work with Webex Calling, Webex Control Hub, Cloud Connected UC, and the move from Cisco Jabber to the Webex App, building the in-house capability to plan and support migration.

Governance and cost control are built in. Modules on calling privileges, call permissions and toll fraud prevention help protect organisations from unauthorised and expensive calls, while role-based access control, single sign-on and certificate management support strong security practice. Quality of Service (QoS) training ensures the network gives voice and video the priority they need.

Every participant also prepares for Cisco exam 350-801, which earns the Cisco Certified Specialist – Collaboration Core credential and forms the core of CCNP Collaboration and CCIE Collaboration. For organisations, a certified team brings consistent processes, faster troubleshooting and greater confidence when introducing new collaboration services. We deliver this programme to IT teams and professionals across Tanzania.

Course objectives

Participants will leave the course able to:

  1. Operate CUCM clusters reliably, including clustering options, upgrades and day-to-day administration.
  2. Automate user and device onboarding with LDAP synchronisation, self-provisioning and bulk provisioning tools.
  3. Plan the move from Cisco Jabber to the Webex App and connect on-premises systems to the cloud with Cloud Connected UC.
  4. Enforce calling policies with calling privileges, call permissions and toll fraud prevention on CUCM and Webex Calling.
  5. Connect the organisation to service providers through CUBE and Cisco IOS XE voice gateways.
  6. Apply role-based access control, single sign-on, and certificate management across collaboration services.
  7. Maintain consistent voice and video quality with an end-to-end QoS strategy.

For organisations in Tanzania, building collaboration capability across a team works best as a structured programme rather than a single course. Many organisations begin with Cisco collaboration foundations training (CLFNDU) for newer team members, run the CLCOR course for core engineers, and then develop specialists through Cisco Collaboration Hybrid and Cloud Technologies (CLHCT) or Webex Calling training as cloud adoption grows. Engineers responsible for the wider network can broaden their skills with CCNP Enterprise core training (ENCOR). Our corporate training team can design a Cisco collaboration training plan around your technology roadmap, and our Cisco training catalogue shows every course available to your team.

FAQs

How can CLCOR training benefit organisations in Tanzania?

It gives your IT team a common, certified skill set across Cisco on-premises and cloud collaboration. Teams handle changes, migrations, and incidents more consistently, and you rely less on external support for routine work.

Will the course help us move from on-premises calling to Webex?

Yes. The hybrid and cloud part of the course covers Webex Calling, Webex Control Hub, Cloud Connected UC, and migrating users from Cisco Jabber to the Webex App, so your team can plan and support a phased move to the cloud.

Does CLCOR cover toll fraud prevention and calling policies?

Yes. Participants configure calling privileges in CUCM and call permissions in Webex Calling, and learn proven techniques to prevent toll fraud on both platforms.

Which team members should attend?

Collaboration and voice engineers, network administrators who support telephony and meetings, service desk leads who handle escalated collaboration issues, and engineers who will lead migration projects.

Does CLCOR support certification and recertification?

Yes. Passing 350-801 earns a Cisco Specialist credential and counts toward CCNP Collaboration, which is valid for three years. Each part of the course also earns 38 Continuing Education credits that certified staff can use to recertify.
