Implementing and Operating Cisco Data Center Core Technologies (350-601 DCCOR)

The 350-601 DCCOR exam is the foundation of Cisco’s data center certification track. Passing it is a requirement for both CCNP Data Center and CCIE Data Center. Because it spans five broad domains, preparing for it means building real familiarity with technologies that many engineers have only used in part. The Implementing and Operating Cisco Data Center Core Technologies (350-601 DCCOR) course combines structured instruction with hands-on practice to build that familiarity.

In the network domain, you will configure Cisco Nexus switches for routing and switching, set up vPC pairs, work with OSPF, BGP, and multicast, and deploy first-hop redundancy. You will build and verify VXLAN overlays with a BGP EVPN control plane, and review how Cisco ACI handles policy-based networking.

In the compute domain, you will create Cisco UCS service profiles from pools, policies, and templates, and see how Cisco Intersight manages compute resources centrally. In the storage network domain, you will configure VSANs and zoning, work with NPV and NPIV, and understand how FCoE carries storage traffic over Ethernet.

The automation domain introduces Python scripting, REST APIs, Ansible playbooks, and Terraform for data center tasks, while the security domain covers AAA, RBAC, ACLs, control plane policing, and first-hop security. Each topic is linked to the 350-601 exam blueprint, so you build your exam preparation and your practical Cisco data center skills at the same time.

Course Objectives

Through lectures and practical exercises, you will learn to:

  • Configure and verify Cisco Nexus routing and switching, including vPC, OSPF, BGP, multicast, and HSRP/VRRP.
  • Build and verify a VXLAN BGP EVPN fabric, and describe the Cisco ACI approach to data center networking.
  • Create Cisco UCS service profiles using pools, policies, and templates, and manage compute with Cisco Intersight.
  • Configure Fibre Channel VSANs, zoning, NPV/NPIV, and FCoE for server-to-storage connectivity.
  • Write simple automation using Python and REST APIs, and use Ansible and Terraform for repeatable configuration.
  • Apply AAA, RBAC, ACLs, control plane policing, and first-hop security to the data center.
  • Review all five 350-601 DCCOR exam domains and connect each to practical configuration tasks.

FAQs

What is included in the 350-601 DCCOR course?

The course covers all five exam domains: network, compute, storage network, automation, and security. It includes Nexus, VXLAN EVPN, Cisco UCS, Intersight, Fibre Channel, FCoE, Python, Ansible, Terraform, and data center security.

Who would benefit most from this course?

Network engineers, data center engineers, systems engineers, storage administrators, and infrastructure engineers preparing for CCNP or CCIE Data Center.

How does 350-601 DCCOR relate to CCNP and CCIE Data Center?

350-601 DCCOR is the core exam for both. For CCNP Data Center, you also pass one concentration exam, such as 300-620 DCACI. For CCIE Data Center, you also pass the CCIE Data Center lab exam. Passing DCCOR alone earns the Cisco Certified Specialist – Data Center Core certification.

Why are organizations investing in Cisco data center skills?

Data centers now combine physical and virtual infrastructure, overlays, automation, and cloud management. Engineers who understand these technologies help organizations run reliable, efficient, and secure environments.

Will this course help my professional development?

It builds practical Cisco data center skills and prepares you for a core certification exam. How these support your career depends on your experience and how you apply them.
