Course Overview

Installing a firewall is easy to start and easy to get wrong, and gaps left during deployment, such as an unplanned topology, untested trust between components, missing redundancy, or no backup routine, can undermine network security for years. The Check Point Deployment Administrator (CPDA) course prevents those gaps by teaching a disciplined, best-practice approach to building a Check Point Quantum Security Environment. Following the R82 syllabus, this Check Point CPDA training begins with the Three-Tier Architecture and deployment planning, then guides learners through installing Gaia, configuring a Primary Security Management Server, and deploying SmartConsole. Learners deploy a Security Gateway, test Secure Internal Communication (SIC), install licenses, and create an Access Control Policy Package with their first rules. They then extend the design with a Security Gateway Cluster and a dedicated Log Server, adopt a maintenance strategy covering backups, snapshots, configuration, and software updates, and use batch import to load objects and rules accurately at scale. The outcome is a solid, practical foundation in Check Point firewall deployment, and because CPDA has no exam, it leads directly into Check Point CCSA training in Ethiopia for learners who want to become certified.

Course Objectives

The course equips learners to:

  • Describe the Check Point Three-Tier Architecture and the purpose of each component.
  • Plan a new Quantum Security deployment and document the target network.
  • Install Gaia, configure a Primary Security Management Server, and deploy SmartConsole.
  • Deploy a Security Gateway, create its object, test SIC, and install licenses.
  • Create an Access Control Policy Package and write and modify rules.
  • Deploy a Security Gateway Cluster with correctly configured members, interfaces, and licenses.
  • Add a dedicated Log Server to the environment.
  • Maintain the system with backups, snapshots, configuration management, and software updates.
  • Batch import hosts, networks, groups, and Access Control rules.

Check Point Firewall Deployment Training in Ethiopia

Ethiopia’s banks, telecom operators, mobile money services, and public institutions are expanding their networks, and every expansion is a chance to build security correctly from the start. Check Point CPDA training in Ethiopia prepares IT and security professionals to deploy Check Point with confidence and consistency. The course covers deployment planning, Gaia installation, Security Management Server and Security Gateway deployment, clustering, dedicated log servers, maintenance, and batch import on Check Point R82. These skills help teams in Addis Ababa and regional offices deliver environments that are documented, resilient, and ready for day-to-day administration. They also support organizations working with the Information Network Security Administration (INSA) toward stronger cybersecurity practices. After CPDA, learners can move on to Check Point CCSA training or explore related programs in our course catalogue.

FAQs

What is Check Point CPDA training?

It is training aligned with Check Point’s Deployment Administrator curriculum. It teaches you to install, configure, and maintain a new Check Point Quantum Security Environment.

Which subjects are taught in the course?

The course covers the Three-Tier Architecture, deployment planning, Gaia installation, Security Management Server and Security Gateway deployment, policy fundamentals, clustering, dedicated log servers, maintenance, and batch import.

Who will benefit most from CPDA?

Deployment administrators, security and firewall administrators new to Check Point, network and system administrators, and consultants who install Check Point environments.

What background is recommended?

You should be comfortable with networking, TCP/IP, network security, Windows or Unix-like systems, system administration, and Unix text editors. No previous Check Point course is required.

Is CPDA a certification?

No. CPDA has no exam and does not award a certification. Certification begins with the CCSA, and CPDA is the course Check Point recommends before it.

Why is deployment planning covered before installation?

Planning decides where components go, how they communicate, and how the environment will grow. Getting it right avoids costly redesigns later.

What maintenance tasks does the course teach?

It covers backup and restore, snapshot management, saving and loading configurations, hardware health monitoring, and software updates.

Can CPDA help me progress professionally?

It gives you practical, hands-on Check Point deployment skills and prepares you for the certified pathway through CCSA and CCSE. For team training options, enquire now.
